CCM: Easpring: 2015 revenue reaches USD131.53 million, up by 37.67 percent YoY 04-21-2016

In March, 2016, Easpring released its 2015 financial report. It showed that the company’s revenue and net profit underwent substantial YoY growths, which was mainly attributed to the great increase in sales volume of cathode material. Not only that, this growth in fact is expected to continue throughout 2016 as well.

On 14 March, 2016, Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Easpring) released its 2015 financial report.

  • Revenue: USD131.53million (RMB860 million), up by 37.67% YoY
  • Net profit attributable to equity holders of listed companies: USD2.03million (RMB13.28 million), up by 151.90%

It is worth mentioning that 44.4% of the company’s total sales volume in 2015 was attributed to cathode materials (for alternative energy vehicle use), which however only accounted for 0.8% in 2014.

“Last year, driven by the huge demand from alternative energy vehicle industry, we adjusted our strategic focus to the R&D of EV Li-ion battery cathode materials, and has successively developed several types of products suitable for BEV Li-ion batteries,” Easpring said.

Amongst those products there were the nickelic multiple materials, which have entered the supply chain of high-end brand vehicles and now are widely used in branded alternative energy vehicles in China, Europe, the US, Japan and South Korea.

As long as the alternative energy vehicle market keeps thriving, the cathode material business is expected to account for a bigger proportion of the company’s total sales volume this year.

Easpring’s performance growth in 2015 was mainly attributed to following factors:

  • The company has been actively developing its Li-ion battery cathode material market at home and abroad, leading to a YoY growth of about 25% and 36% in sales value and sales volume respectively
  •
  • Easpring’s subsidiary, Jiangsu Easpring Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Jiangsu Easpring)’s 1st -phase project of vehicle power battery cathode materials worked at full capacity

  • The overall gross profit margin of the company’s multiple materials has increased
  • Beijing Zodngoc Automatic Technology Co., Ltd. (Zodngoc), a company acquired by Easpring, has been included since Aug. 2015 in Easpring’s consolidated financial statement, leading to an increase in consolidated profit. Prior to this, Easpring has restructured the major assets in Zodngoc after it purchased 100% of shares in Zodngoc by issuing shares and raising supporting capital. Obviously, Easpring has extended its main business from cathode materials business to intelligent facility business, which was in a rapid growth
  • The investment return from its joint venture, Hunan Shinzoom Technology Co., Ltd., has witnessed a great YoY growth
  • CDB Development Fund Co., Ltd. has invested USD9.18million (RMB60 million) in Jiangsu Easpring’s Li-ion battery cathode materials production base
  •

    Easpring’ has its 2016 plan:

  • To strengthen industry chain cooperation and accelerate power battery market development
  • To further develop Li-ion battery cathode material for high-end vehicles
  • To fully utilize the capacity in Jiangsu Easpring and design future capacity
  • To build a collective management system
